I think most fic authors (anyone who's posted on AO3 at least) have had their content used in AI training models with zero compensation, and I, personally, greatly appreciate the Herald's stance on its use. Especially with no editing, you could consider it plagiarism of every single author whose works were used to train the model. Having had my work stolen without compensation, or consent, or even notice, it breaks my heart to know the words (and art) I poured my heart and soul into and gave away for free are now being used to earn money for a company full of people I've never even met.
