Hi All,

As you may be aware, we've been short a couple of editors for awhile now, and I have just learned that @waddiwasiwitch will be leaving us in August. I'd like to thank her for her contributions to the Herald over the last few years. If you are interested in becoming an editor, just drop us an ask on Tumblr, or send a message to Rahirah on Livejournal or Dreamwidth. While knowledge of HTML is useful, all you really need is to love Buffy fandom -- we'll be happy to show you everything else you need to know.

I'm gonna be blunt: Putting out the Herald in its current form takes some work. We've been getting by with only five people (and occasional reblogging help with the Sunnydale Digest on Tumblr from @spikesjojo) but doing it with only four people is really not feasible. We haven't had any luck recruiting replacement editors for the last two people who've retired. If we aren't able to bring anyone new onboard by the time Waddiwasiwitch has to take her leave, we're going to have to have a serious discussion about whether the Herald can continue, and if so, in what form.

The Sunnydale Herald has been in continuous operation since 2003, since it was founded by Spuzz on Livejournal. I'm extremely proud of the service we've provided Buffy fandom for the last fifteen years. It's been a hell of a run.

Oh, I’m sorry to hear this. I haven’t been reading much Buffy lately and I tried to do a fandom newsletter editor thing once before and it was immediately overwhelming and horrible for me, so I am not your person, but I do enjoy scrolling through to see what’s new and was very impressed when I first found this place at the thoroughness and longevity! I do hope you find another editor, but if not, thank you so much for all you’ve done!
