Hello everyone. As you know (or don't know and I'm now telling you) I've been working behind the scenes for awhile. I've messed with the format, the layout and the user info and FAQ. Now I'm going to ask for your advice on some stuff. Mainly have to do with fics, fic pairings and what you guys can suggest.
The editors do their very very best in trying to find you guys these links. And I know it may not seem like that much work, but trust me, it is. And trying to find a suitable amount of fic links for you guys while not overwhelming the post is a delicate balance. We are only people and we can't satisfy everyone.
Having said that we need your help in suggesting things that could make this process easier for the editors and better for you guys.
So some question I'd like you to answer:
Is there a author that you feel needs to be read and recced and has yet to be mentioned?
Is there a pairing that you feel is woefully under represented? (Please note: if it is a rare pairing that is rarely written please don't mention it. There's nothing we can do to encourage writer's to write more of a pairing.)
Would you rather the Herald:
1. Create a seperate community for fic updates and fics? (Note: This won't be done most likely, especially since I doubt I'd find volunteers for editors, just a question.)
2. Cut out fic updates?
3. Cut out fics?
4. Cut out fic updates and fics altogether and just post recs?
Do you think more editors would help with the pairings representation? Or do you think we are doomed to even try?
Do you have any other suggestions? Something we haven't tried?
Again, I want to hear your suggestions. This community is not elitist, we aren't trying to cut anyone out, so speak up. We're reading this post, even if I don't, or any of the editors respond to your comments, we are reading them.
Thank you,
Lauren
