[identity profile] spuzz.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] su_herald
Hello,

I'm [livejournal.com profile] spuzz, your friendly community owner. This post is to commemorate the [livejournal.com profile] su_herald having reached 1000 watchers. Which is, to understate it, awesome. I can't say how much I love everyone for supporting the Herald for such a long time (3 years for the community on the 17th), it's been quite the evolution.

So changes that happened this summer were:
The addition of two new sections: the classic herald (a pick from older Herald entries) and editor's pick (a recommendation from the days links picked by the editor.)
A brand new layout, complete with header and easier navigation.
New user info, which will probably change again very soon, with new information.
New section of the FAQ, the how-to section, making it easier on us and the reader.
New affilates.

The point of this post is, in honor of 1000 readers, we're opening up the post for comments, suggestions, questions, weird quotes, anything. I'll be around to answer any comments/suggestions/questions/weird quotes you have, as will editor's when they have some free time.

So...have fun!

Thank you to the Herald, and the editors, for helping to keep Buffy fandom alive. I appreciate all the hard work, both as a writer and a reader.

Thanks for all the times you've recc'd me. It always gives me a buzz to see one of my fics or limericks on the Herald. It's like the fandom equivalent of having my name up in lights - lol!

I really don't have anything more to say than a big thank you for all your hard work. And to mention I really like the links you put in to meta discussions and ficathons and polls.

Congratulations!

I'm a new watcher. I picked you up after WriterCon in Atlanta. Rave reviews and all. I didn't even know you existed until then!

Keep up the good work.

Thanks to everybody who has worked on and supported the herald these past three years and continue for hopefully the next. You have helped keep the fandom alive and interested in what's new. If it wasn't for the herald I probably would have thought that the fandom died out a long time ago and I'm very grateful that it hasn't.

To those helping to contibute to the herald - thank you for writing and making graphics. And thanks to those who still discuss BtVS and AtS. It's great to know that old watchers and new watchers can come together and discuss because at times it makes it feel like you're discussing it for the very first time.

*big applause for the maintainers/editors and for [livejournal.com profile] spuzz for creating this amazing community*

There's just this pride and sense of accomplishment that I get when I see my work up in the Herald. This truly is just a great comm, keeping the fandom alive. I certainly would miss a lot of wonderful pieces if it wasn't for you guys, and I've read a lot of things that I wouldn't even have glanced at before. So thank you all, for your hard work. Congratulations on three years, and have fun in the future ones.

huge thanks from me too. The herald gives me my daily fix and it has opened me up to a huge number of new writers who I may not have otherwise come across!!

Here's to another 3 years (and more, of course!!)
