[identity profile] spuzz.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] su_herald
Hi guys, it's me. Just two things for you.

1. Please remember to FRIEND the community, not join. We reject all requests to join. Additionally please don't email me to ask why. Read the FAQ first then if you have additional questions about it you can either leave a comment on the FAQ page or email the editors.

2. We need more applicants for the open editor post. I'd love to hear from you! DO NOT BE SHY. Despite my outward appearance and rumors to the contrary, I am actually sort of a nice person. This is your opportunity to voice your preferences for fic, icons, meta, and whatever YOU think is going on that day. It is a very cool experience, a very awesome responsibility and a very unique place in fandom. Do not pass it up. If you feel more comfortable doing so you can also leave me a comment (they will be screened.)

Edited to clarify: You will receive a response from me after I've made a final decision (which will hopefully be shortly) unless you have additional questions.

Thats all I've got for you.

Hello!

I am very interested in applying for the open editor post, but I am unsure as to what experience the position requires. I'm afraid I've done little editing, save for my high school newspaper and yearbook. I've been involved in the fandom for almost three years and still enjoy it very much, though I am looking to assume more of a supportive role within it. I'm familiar with LJ, and have my own fiction community and recommendations community. I'm also the creator and moderator of [livejournal.com profile] graham_corps and [livejournal.com profile] darker_xander. Additionally, I'm a moderator at [livejournal.com profile] _xangel and the [livejournal.com profile] forbiddenawards (as well as a past judge). I also judge at the Fang Fetish Awards, and am a past judge at [livejournal.com profile] wonton_folly and [livejournal.com profile] sothawards. In the fall, I'm launching two fandom season communities, [livejournal.com profile] fall_for_cordy and [livejournal.com profile] fall_for_faith. Needless to say, I do a lot of reading in the fandom and have past beta experience.

My only concern is that many people (including active authors) are friended to my various communities, and I can foresee some hurt feelings should I not select one of their stories to be featured. If chosen as an editor, would it be acceptable for me to post from a different LJ handle so as to seem as impartial as possible?

Thank you for your consideration. I am fortunate to have been featured a few times at [livejournal.com profile] su_herald, and I use the community daily for recommendations. It's exposed me to so many wonderful writers I might otherwise not have read or found, so sincerest thanks for that!

Cheers,
Aidan
